The Fröbel Association Oberweißbach, active in Friedrich Fröbel's birthplace, is dedicated to bringing the life and achievements of Fröbel back into the public eye. The association's focus is on carrying Fröbel's philosophy forward and sharing his ideas with interested parties.

Every year on Fröbel's birthday, an "Honours Ceremony" is held at Fröbel's house of birth, a celebration that is jointly organised by the association. At the annual Festival of Lights in Oberweißbach, the association also organises Christmas craft workshops for children following Fröbel's concepts, for example, the folding of Fröbel stars.
