The AWO Kindergarten Fröbelhaus in Bad Blankenburg is a modern educational institution, which follows the kindergarten concepts of Friedrich Fröbel. Its focus is on stimulating independent and self-serving children, with adult guidance to enable self-reliance and social competence. Key is the recognition of individual characteristics in harmony with the natural and social world. Play in all its variations is considered the most important educational resource.

The kindergarten offers many special activities such as early musical instruction, occupational therapy and liaison with the Regional Sport School and the local sports club, SV Greifenstein.

The training facility, Thüringia Fröbel Seminary, is also located in the kindergarten complex and features annual courses for kindergarten teachers. The courses include the use of Fröbel’s “gifts”, early childhood education through play, the stimulation of the child’s creative powers and the opportunity to implement these concepts under today’s conditions.
